My first Canon action of the Autumn season was on 10th November and Thanks as always goes to Steve Brown for the ride covering this working. Cheers Mate What will 2010 bring to the mainline bloody horrrible yank engines doing what our home grown class 56 - 58 - 60s can do with ease!! Personally 2010 could see me hang up my note pad and camera after some 29 years in the hobby barring the odd venture to a preserved line. ]]> Tue Nov 17 2009 October 2009 http://teessidelads.fotopic.net/c1767949.html The month started with yet another diesel gala the original plan was to visit SVR however with the issues the week before on the railway we opted for GCRN a location we had only visited in before 31452 made its first public appearance in the new livery 47765 returned to pulling trains and 08220 pulled its first passenger train in 23years tooled with D8007 - 20154 - 56097 - 47292 - D7629 and 37248 it was a cracking gala. Well Done to all involved in getting this venue up and running. The following some of the lads headed to a bus rally based in and around the Embsay Railway with shuttles running between Bolton Abbey and Embsay 37294 - 47004 - 31119 - D5600 - 08054 - 08773 where all found at various locations. Canon season is once again with us bringing with it some much needed attraction on the main line fingers crossed the bonnets keep on showing on 3S10 York was the destination Sat 17th with 2 charters bringing in some quality traction first up was GBRf staff outing returning 86701 - 86702 to mainline traffic next was Spitfires charter from Taunton and included the Harrogate - Leeds Circular which John and Myself where meant to have a spin on however this didnt happen so we spent the rest of the day in the pub Enjoy the Pics. ]]> Sat Jun 27 2009 June 2009 http://teessidelads.fotopic.net/c1705836.html Well with half the year nearly gone, the second half is for me the better with longer days nicer weather and more charters and gala's to cover which really is the only thing of any quality to keep us going the down turn in regular mainline traffic and the end of Z43-44 their is very little to offer in terms of traction unless ya like differant liveried 66's June starts with another massive trip Marshy and Myself are doing Long Marston Openday travelling to London by coach and then forward from Euston on a charter. 90029 worked Euston - Nuneaton where 66060 worked Nuneaton - Long Marston via Birmingham New Street and Stourbridge 66060 returned from Long Marston due to technical problems at Kidderminster we get diverted via Bromsgrove and my first trip over the Lickey onto Birmingham New Street for a non stop pass through a station heavily bottle necked and north towards Stafford where 90029 took over the the fast run back to London arriving 3 mins down June also brings KWVR Gala this year, Wensleydale Railway are having a diesel loco running day on 21st which should see the newly arrived class 20 in action. Some charters to be had locally June should be another active month for the lads. ]]> Sun May 31 2009 Eastleigh Works Open Weekend 2009 http://teessidelads.fotopic.net/c1700922.html Mr B, Marshy, Dek and Myself joined by Sophia made the long haul journey south to support yet another rail event leaving Teesside around midnight friday, arriving into London around 0620 meeting John and Daniel Glover for breakfast at Mcdonalds in Victoria we headed for Eastleigh via Clapham Junction Woking and arrived in Eastleigh at 0845, Myself and Sophia had passes and entered the site by 0900 a full hour before the crowds A massive Thanks to all involved in making this event a success it was a brill line up and very well positioned. Thanks to Walkers Models for the passes and for the safe keeping of the bags Cheers The lads finally returned home 0700 Sunday morning some 38 hours after departing Big Thanks to John, Daniel, Marshy, Mr B, Dek,Gareth, Fish, Chris, Sophia and Howard for making the weekend a truely awesome event.
